This product was a huge waste of money! Instead of creating a safe haven for our cat, it devastated our family. We followed the instructions to a T and trained the cat exactly as the DVD instructed. The collar is huge and cannot possibly be comfortable for the poor animal but we tried it anyway. The “fence” was effective for about a month. In the end, our cat decided to suck up the static shock and took off out of the yard. Our cat has been missing for over a year now. We searched for months and months, put up posters, went door to door, checked shelters, all to no avail. My child was traumatized over losing her cat. I have four dogs on petsafe fence collars which I love. I bought two of these cat collars for my other two little 5 lb dogs, being that they are smaller. Well the antenna in the collar is apparently smaller, so the boundary is much closer to the road then the other collars I have. Also, the battery life is terrible. I had the colllar 1 day and it was already flashing that it need to be replaced. Now maybe that battery was a dud but in reading other reviews (which I should have done before I purchase) The battery life is only a month or so. Not that is not very long at all considering the battery is very expensive. The other collars petsafe makes for larger dogs, battery life is about 4 mos. I am finding. I am very displeased, especially that I bought it through amazon. If I got it a petsmart they would have taken it back even after I opened it.
We have a cat that is 1/2 bengal and 1/2 tabby and he is huge and quite a little hunter. He kept opening out lizard enclosures and actually injured one and killed another, this fencing system with collar has been the only thing keeping him away from the enclosures. Awesome item!
The product worked as describe though it had unintended consequences. The product kept the cat out of the bedroom and consequently from urinating on the bed. The cat then urinated on the other beds in the house something it had never done before. Maybe the cat was pissed-off! Pun intended.
We are extremely pleased with your product. We live near a busy street and the cat fence has allowed them to roam outside but still within our yard. Thanks for a great product!!
