1 out of 5 stars Unstable and dangerous   November 6, 2008
In my opinion I do not recommend this item. The item is top heavy, has too small a base and thus unstable. It is heavy too. It is poorly engineered and the taller versions will topple. For certain, furniture it hits is in danger to say nothing of the animal. It simply wasn't designed to support a ten pound animal hitting the platforms at an angle. It will scare you when it goes over, and the animal too. Considering the expense, and the fact if it wobbles, sags, or topples the animal will never use it again, I suggest that you stay away from these until they reengineer. I attempted to tell them of the problem but after several e-mails, which included pictures they requested, they told me I wasn't in their database and, apparently, therefore I have no standing with them --eventually they told me to take it up with the pet store and not them. I attempted to explain the problem and asked for a supervisor, but they declined as they simply ignored further conversation. These Armarkat platforms look nice, but they cost a lot and I believe them to be dangerous. Considering, I would tell you that if you have to buy an Armarkat then purchase the low ones only. I do not recommend the taller ones (anything over three feet) without drilling and anchoring them to the wall.

4 out of 5 stars My cats love it! Needs additional stability   July 15, 2008
I nailed a 2x2 1/2 piece of plywood to the bottom and it's fine. The cats love it. Most cats will need some assistance getting on the top level, so I have a flat top scratching post to its side. They only rarely use the enclosed space as it will only fit slender petite cats. The top level is the most used. I have it by the sliding glass door and they sit on the top level and watch the birds or the moths around the porch light at night. It gets alot of use and seems to be holding up just fine and I've had it for about 6 months. Great deal.

2 out of 5 stars ~52"~ Cat Tree House Condo Scratcher   March 31, 2007

It needs to be stablized. It has tipped over three times when my cats jumped on it. Putting it in a corner helps.

4 out of 5 stars A little wobbly   January 12, 2007

My cat loves it, and it is the perfect size for our two-bedroom apartment. Not too big that it's the first thing you notice in a medium sized room. It's perfect to stick by a window if your kitty likes to look outside. My cat mostly uses it to lounge and watch out the window. The material is nice, but we can't seem to get it to sit flat on the floor, there's always a slight wobble.

4 out of 5 stars Nice Cat Tree   October 4, 2006

I've bought five different models from this company, this being next to the smallest. The cats loved it, of course, and the faux fur is actually more durable than carpeting (strange but true). As all the faux fur models I've bought, this is a snap to clean with a small brush. br /The fact that it fits into a corner is a big plus and the main reason I purchased this configuration.br /The only semi-complaint I had was this model seemd a little unstable because of the offset top nest and smaller base. But then, my cats act like a bunch of pirates jumping a merchant vessel, so they do mistreat their furniture. I simply removed the top nest and flipped it over to use as an extra scratch post. If you have a halfway normal cat or two, you really shouldn't have to worry.br /Four paws-up for this one =^..^=
