Love the high sides; inner "liner/scoop tray" to fine for the litter I use (Swheatscoop) - and how do you get the thing back in if you do use it to scoop?! I took it out, which allows a little of the litter to go between top/sides and the box itself. But I still like the high sides and not having to deal with a lid.

I highly recommend this litter box. The high sides or "shield" eliminate the worst problem I've had, which is litter getting spilled outside the box due to the cat kicking the litter out of the box as it attempts to cover up its business afterwards. Save yourself money and your cat trauma and don't bother with all of those self-cleaning or self-flushing litter boxes. Cats don't like or trust them, and they often break down and make a bigger mess than if you just had a plain old-fashioned litter box like this one and a scooper. That and some clumping litter are all you need to minimize the mess, expense, and time involved cleaning up. If you have that big of an aversion to litter box cleaning, don't get a cat. I also agree with everyone else that the "grid" is more trouble than it is worth.

Decent price, timely shipping, item arrived in perfect condition. Dimensions in the description extremely helpful. (If only I'd *read* them, I discovered upon arrival my cat is too darn big for this... but that's my own fault now, isn't it ;) )

Visually, this is a very pretty box but it doesn't really do what it says it does since litter gets all over the place after my cat leaves the box.

I have the messiest cat in history; he is always peeing outside the box. The high sides of this box are great for preventing messes. I also use those sifting liners, and the shield holds those in place WAY easier than the rubber bands that come with it. I don't bother using the grid bottom, which seems useless.
