Product Description The Cat Genie SideWalls give cats a little more privacy. If you use the Cat Genie Self-Cleaning Litter Box, these higher sides keep high kickers' scatter inside the box, reducing litter sweep-up. These high sides are also perfect for those cats who want a little extra privacy, but won't use a covered litter box. To add privacy and reduce scattered litter from your Cat Genie, add some Genie SideWalls! Simple snap-on assembly will take less than five minutes but save you hours of litter clean up.

It helps but isn't 100% October 31, 2008 The sidewalls definitely help keep the granules in the tub, but some still get out - I think mostly in the fur of my longhaired cat.
Pet owner October 30, 2008 If you have a cat genie, the whole product is worth the value. I have cat genie for 2 years now. I don't have to scoop nothing.
A poopy mess! September 22, 2008 I was really excited to try the Cat Genie. The first problem I encountered was the installation. The T-adapter that came with the genie did not fit my toilet's plumbing. I had to go to Home Depot and spend an additional $10. It took 2 days for my cat to use the genie, only to find out it did not work! The genie did not drain the water at all. It appeared that the poop was stuck and clogged the unit. I had to stick my toothbrush into the unit to dislodge the poop. I had poopy water all over my bathroom floor! My cat is back to using the good old litterbox.

The waste plastic scoop's design needs to be improved. The space between the tines needs to be narrower. The small waste falls through when the scoop is working. This would be an easy item to fix and the manufacturer should provide buyers with an updated scoop, FREE OF CHARGE. Their Engineers and Testers should have caught this flaw during their designing and testing. Also the part of the hose that fits over the toilet needs to have a plastic insert to keep it from being flattened during toilet use. Either this or thicker spacers for the toilet seat should be provided. I have heard comments that the scoop sometimes pushes the granules out of the unit. With the proper amount of granules in the unit I have not had this problem. I have tried numerous self cleaning units and the CatGenie is far superior to any of the other units examined. With the scoop modified and thicker toilet seat spacers/and or waste hose modifications, I feel this unit will have a five star rating. br /br /WILBUR C WATTS, TSGT, USAF RET, 100% DISABLED VETERANbr /nostalgia@sprintmail.com

One of the big problems with this machine is that the granules stick to the feet of the cats and gets all over the floor. The warm air drier for the granules seems to blow granules out of the tub onto the floor. I had hoped that the sidewalls would help, but they did nothing at all. A waste of money. I will have to keep buying those expensive granules until there is a better idea to keep them in the machine.
