We live on a farm and our dogs kill real opossum all the time. We bought these for our dogs birthdays and they love them. They look very real. Our one dog that does not play with toys always stops to sniff them, thinking they might be real.
Stands up to real abuse February 27, 2008
My teen and beagle love to play together. Stuffed dog toys are shredded almost instantly, many haven't made it through an evening of play. We've had this one almost two weeks. It's been played with daily, very very vigorously, with no gaps in the stitching, no loose stuffing. The squeaker stopped squeaking right away, but Wilson can still hear the ball rattling around in there and is just as enthralled by that. For a hunting dog like a beagle, there's nothing better than his own personal possum!

My dog loved her first one so much I had to buy a replacement because it got a bit "gamey" from her playing with it so much. In addition, it was used as a favorite tug toy between her, a Tibetan Terrier, and her best friend, a golden retriever.
It is a very sturdy toy, but if you have a chewer, you may find the feet chewed off! However, the tail stayed solidly in place.
