Works like a Charm October 5, 2008 The Universal Pet Barrier, works great, easy to install and keeps my Bulldog in the back out of mischief. I have a Blazer and it fits just right, I would recommend it to anyone.
Just hope your dog doesn't want to get up front September 30, 2008 Flimsy, no holders for the side hoops (yes they slide in and out freely with nothing to hold them out???). My boxer puppy made very quick work of this piece of trash. Save yourself some money and buy a better, more expensive one up front.
Needs constant tightening, but that's all. September 6, 2008 As a barrier, it works fine. It is easy to put up and take down. Every once in a while my dogs can get past it, that is when I know it's time to tighten the screws on the bars. It could use a little pad or something on the top cups that sit against the headliner of the car, they leave marks. (But anyone that lets their dog ride in the car knows they'll never keep it pristine anyway.) It keeps my three dogs in check in the back. I've also purchased and occasionally use the extra bar for the full set up when the back seat is down. I also agree it could use a spring tension for placement. That would make it easier, but set up is pretty simple.
Highland pet barrier August 15, 2008 This pet barrier is functional, but not fully universal, or 100% escape proof. I installed it in a 2006 chevy trailblazer and due to the fact that the top pads do not adjust to the countour of the vehicle, I had to move the vertical poles in more, causing instability. Also, the side slide extensions do not lock and the dog could move them over and get through. I had to secure them with tape to make them more escape proof.
Does it's job July 27, 2008 this is definitely built for large dogs. A very smart dog may get by, as the horizontal bars do not lock. So far, it works for me.
