I have owned two of these litter boxes for 2 1/2 years and find them far superior to any ordinary litter box. I have 3 cats, and use scoopable litter, the CHEAP kind, and have NEVER had a messy problem like the other review states. As a matter of fact, this litter box is designed to use with scoopable litter, I'm afraid regular litter wouldn't work at all! It is important to use the box according to manufacturer's directions, keep plenty of litter in it, and roll it at least once a day. Also, while box is upside down, smacking the bottom of it helps to loosen the clumps stuck to the bottom. The other reviewer needs to realize that the clumps are not supposed to go through the screen, that is for the clean litter! The clumps roll over the screen and into the tray for disposal. Maybe they are simply using it incorrectly, but it isn't rocket science to figure it out. It's a simple method, not a complicated procedure.

THIS CAT BOX SHOULD HAVE A LARGE SIGN WITH IT THAT SAYS: DO NOT USEbr / WITH CLUMPING CAT LITTER! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN ~ LITTER BECOMESbr / LIKE GLUEY OATMEAL, AND WILL NOT GO THRU SCREEN, WON'T COME OFF, STUCKbr / EVERYWHERE. DO NOT BUY THIS BOX!!!
