My cat likes it! June 16, 2008 My elderly cat has turned her nose up at all other wet foods until this one. She just loves it. I agree with the other reviewer about these cups being primarily real cuts of meat.
Fish broth, Tuna, Chicken, and Chicken Liver are the first four ingredients in the chicken flavor. I could clearly see the various cuts of meat. It's so much better quality than the other soft foods we've tried. Since her teeth are not doing well with her old age we needed a soft food.
The only odd thing I found regarding this food is that they recommend 2-3 cups per 4.5 lbs of body weight per day. That would mean my normal weight cat would need about 5 cups of this per day which seems like too much food.
It also says this can be fed to kittens as well.
Wonderful!!! June 9, 2007 This is wonderful! i have 2 small kittens. Probably a few weeks old. Anyway, they have been eating dry cat food but it is a little hard for them to chew. So,I bought some 9 lives soft cat food in a can and they would not eat it. So I bought this at wal-mart tonight and they ate it!! Well, atually, I had to put a few pieces of hard food (thats what their used to) in it before they would eat it, but then they started eating this food instead! Now I finally know how to get them to eat! thank you Meow Mix!
One of the kind I'm trying to wean my cats on. March 26, 2007 Variety is the key to avoiding the much hated finicky eater. The more food they're exposed to, the less likely they are to get attached to one particular food.
I feed my cats everything basically. But while doing recent research, I've learned of some of the unhealthy ingredients that can be found in mainstream cat foods you would find at your typical grocery store.
I'm not inclined to totally abandoning supermarket-sold pet food, but I am trying to insert more healthy foods and do better at reading the ingredients labels.
Meow Mix Market Select has real meat as its first 3 or 4 ingredients. In fact no by-products are listed; and for a grocery store sold food, that is a nice option.
My cats don't particularly like this brand unless I mix it with something else, but they're learning.
