Mine have all broken July 22, 2008 Maybe it is just that I'm hard on them, but I have had several and they keep cracking. After the first one cracked and I figured I was being too rough with it, I started being very careful to put it down gently, etc., but the most I have had one last is several months. Even so, I must admit I love the idea of being able to see the water, knowing if there is a mineral buildup and being able to clean it thoroughly, and knowing there is no leaching of metal into the water. However, after about my fifth one in just a short period of time, I think I will try something else.
I Love My Whistler! July 9, 2008 I'd been wanting a new tea pot and haven't been able to find a glass whistler locally. This is exactly what I was looking for. I love being able to see the water level and I love the clear glass and the ease of cleaning it. Well worth the low price!
Would buy another one but a bigger size July 4, 2008 I like this kettle. It looks very nice and is easy to clean. Next time I buy another one, I will get a bigger size because the amount of water you can put in the maximum line is not *really* that number of cups. I think the company is using the term "cup" based on a lesser amount of oz. for measuring. The handle can get hot but it doesn't really bother me.
Such a lovely thing June 23, 2008 This is very nice spot, quality is good, looks nice but only two things not good no filter,You need to buy it separetely, the cover is little complicated, but this teapot is nice at all, will recommend!
My First Tea Kettle June 16, 2008 I am only ranking this 4 star because of the price. My first inclenation would only be three stars. That's not to say this isn't a nice little kettle, just not what I was led to believe.
First off the handle must be removed to pour, which means it will eventually get lost, which means when it does it won't wistle, which means I will be sad.
The second thing is the little wire hickey that goes between the stove eye and the kettle. Com'on people! We put a man on the moon nearly 40 years ago and we can't figure out a cost effective way of keeping that little jingus on the bottom of the kettle? And of course the little sucker will get lost faster than the stupid lid!
Over all it seems like a nice kettle, just not what I had in mind. Probably was there somewhere in black and white right in front of me, but who reads these darned reviews anyhow?
