Another Innovation by Hagerty, the Flatware Organizer is designed to hold a 30 piece service for 6 plus servers. There are vertical slots for 6 Knives in the case. Forks, Teaspoons, Salad Forks and Soupspoons are stored in 4 removable hard-back flatware holders. Servers are stored in the drawer. Lined with Hagertys' famous blue silverware cloth to prevent tarnish. Lid closes with a concealed magnetic latch. Suede-like finish. 5 1/4" deep, 11 1/2" high, 11 3/4" wide. Silverware not included.

I purchased two of these organizers online from Target in fall 2007 and sadly my first negative impression has only been confirmed over time. Although I was concerned when researching about the tops of the silverware being exposed in the sleeves (refer to the product picture), I trusted my previous experience with the Hagerty brand and the mention of this product's lift-over fabric flap.
Unfortunately, the box is not sturdy enough to hold the various sleeves well, even when they are only half-full, and thus the fabric overdrape does not maintain full contact with the silverware.
The inserts are not well made, with uneven widths for the pockets, so if you are working with heirloom silver, you may have trouble fitting one piece per pocket.
The drawer at the bottom also is flimsy and kludgy to operate.
I feel badly being so negative about this product, but I wish I'd been warned before I spent more than $50 apiece on two of them. I am thinking about either buying some Hagerty fabric yardage or a couple of the holloware bags and creating more airtight-type storage.
The only reason I gave this any stars is that the individual pockets are sewn of sheets of the Hagerty cloth and keep the pieces separate rather than nested.
EDIT: Revisiting this review in mid-July 2008, I see that the price of this organizer has dropped by about $10 since I bought it. I stand by my low rating of this product, even at the lower $38 price. The stitching on the pockets is flimsy at best, and I wish I'd given this product just a single star.

When my grandmother's old wooden silver chest finally could not support the weight of my flatware any more, I started searching for storage that I liked as well as that old chest. After many weeks of searching for just the right chest, I finally chose this one. It turned out to be a good decision. This silver chest is so convenient: it takes up little space, and you can access your flatwear so easily. I even put a few pieces that we use often in the little drawer in the front. As much as I like antiques, I love the look and convenience of this modern silver flatware storage system.
