It's a good size that will fit under a large litter box with plenty of room to cover all sides, and it can be cut to fit a smaller space. I like the yoga sticky-mat-like material better than the idea of using carpet because it seems like it's easier on my cat's paws. It's effective and catches the vast majority (though not all) of the litter that she used to drag all over the bathroom and even onto the carpet in the next room. A dramatic improvement. They help keep the litter from being tracked all over the house. One of the best features is that my cats don't mind it. The traditional type of litter mat with pieces of rubber sticking up, must be uncomfortable for my cats feet. They jump around it when getting out of the box which defeats the purpose of the litter mat. I highly recommend this product.
