"cat" scratcher?. . . January 19, 2008

More like "kitten" scratcher.
First of all, this scratcher is very "short" length-wise... about 12", maybe. So, long enough if you have a kitten but not nearly enough if you have an adult cat.
Secondly, it is very light weight. Was easily pulled over and/or pulled to the side by my cat under normal scratching. (as you know, cats prefer a stable scratching surface, so not the best for that).
Thirdly, the catnip recepticle is a small plastic square with a "door" located on the underside of the scratcher...a door which opens very easily. Don't buy this just because of this feature, putting the catnip on the scratching surface works much better IMO.
The reason that it got 3 stars? Well, one, it has a sisal scratching surface which many don't, and two, it does work well if you have a small cat. But, IMO not worth it in the long run.
