Bigger and Better April 26, 2008 We are currently using two Priscilla litter pans in our house, and have this mat under one, and a mat by another company, under the other. This is a big mat and in our experience, it catches what Simone kicks out. The litter then disappears under the raised stripes. I just pick the whole thing up and shake it out, over the garbage can, and that is that. br /br /I am hoping to get another one for the other box, this weekend. I have to vacuum much less with this mat down, and it really is very cute. Used with the Priscilla pan, it makes the litter area very pleasing to look at and deal with. The other mat we got is completely inefficient, in comparison.br /If we set the pan on top of the smaller mat, the mat just disappears. Cats Rule claim that their mat is easily cut down, if you desire, and it is very soft, so I assume that is true.br /br /br /My one and only problem with the mat is that when you first get it, the smell of the vinyl, or whatever the heck it is, is pretty strong. We set it out on the back porch for a few days, and that really toned down the hum. br /br /We found ours at the local Petsmart, and avoided the postage, but I will get it here on Amazon and pay the post, if it is not available there now. Cats Rule stuff seems to be bought out pretty quickly, so I guess we are not the only ones who are so happy with their products.br /br /I used to swear by a large sifting pan, by another company...back when I was still using clumping clay litter. Since losing a much loved cat to the digestive nightmares that clumping clay litter can cause, I went back to the inexpensive, non-clumping stuff, and the Priscilla pan. I now swear by this mat, the Priscilla pan, and cheap old Tidy Cat...the non-clumping variety. Compared to the Fresh Step I had been using, the old fashioned litter is seemingly dust free. I had never realized what a mess the clumping litter was; the dust it caused, how it traveled around the house, and the scent of it everywhere, especially on our kitty, who had been ingesting it, every time she groomed. This mat just swallows up the bits of kicked litter, and the litter neither travels or is visible where it has been kicked. I am very happy with it!
not as expected January 1, 2008 Nothing great about this - it doesn't really catch the litter from kitty - but at least I can pick it up and return the little droppings to the litter box. I would not buy this again - not really worth it.
