It is extremely sturdy and well made. I cut a hole in one of the doors, and attached it to a cat door coming out of the house, which I can lock from the inside to control when they go out there. (They don't make the correlation between that and the people doors, so they don't try to escape outside.) My two cats absolutely LOVE IT!!! I've always felt guilty keeping them entirely indoors, and this was the perfect solution. I can't wait to buy more pieces to attach to this system!
