I hate litterboxes. May 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
That means I LOVE the Cat Windoor! I live in military housing so this is great to let the cats in and out as they please without ruining the door. Housing would not be pleased. No litterbox means less nonsense for me to keep up with while hubby is deployed. PLUS, the kitties have never been been happier. They get exercise and entertainment outside so no scratching up the furniture either. YAY! br /"I can has cat door?" Yes, Kitteh, you can.
Make sure to secure the sides! April 2, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
It's a wonderful product, except for the fact that the moveable sides are also moveable by my cat. He pushed one open and jumped through my two-story window. Do whatever it takes to prevent this from happening with your own cat.
Just what I was looking for February 13, 2008 This pet door was exactly what I was looking for. It allows the cats to come and go easily (It took one of them a little bit to figure out how it worked, but that isn't the door's fault.). It was easy to intall and it keeps my heating bill from going through the roof. I've found that it keeps the cold out almost as well as the regular window.br /br /I highly recommend this pet door.
Installation a bit tricky January 29, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I will amend this after the cats get a chance to use it. But for now, it arrived this afternoon and was ready to be installed within a few minutes. br /br /However, the adhesive foam that was included is about 1/2 in thick and wouldn't allow our window to them shut far enough to screw in the included screws. We had some thinner foam lying around and ended up using that. We chose not to use the indoor platform because it doesn't sit directly on the sill and we decided it was too unstable. br /br /It seems to be sturdy in the window, the cats are still checking it out and haven't made up their minds if it is something they approve of or not. br /br /With that said, whatever stops me from having to get up 5,000 times a day and open and shut doors to let them in and out is ok by me.
not quite what I expected January 2, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
There was a bit more to the installation than I expected, I did not like putting screws into our window frame and one screw snapped in half during installation. The landing needs support, we put some of the flat packing stuff and some newspapers underneath to keep it solid. br /It is advertised as weather-tight, however, cold air leaks in around the door flap.br /I really like the locking mechanism but our cats get around the one way locks by scratching and pulling at the door with their claws. br /However, it is adequate to the job, the cats like access to the outdoors, and I don't have to get up to open the door 10 times a night.
