 Great deal on cardboard scratchers December 3, 2008
My cats love these scratchers. They recognize them by sight and if they see me open a new one they will run over and immediately scratch away. I have tried several brands and they are all pretty much the same. The biggest negative is that they wear out. I could also go without the tassels as my cats never seem to notice then. You can turn over the cardboard insert and double how long they last. A nice GREEN aspect of these is that you can toss them in with your cardboard recyclables.br /br /These go for 3-4 dollars more in the pet store. Buy enough to get free shipping and it is a great deal.br /br /

Maybe your cat will like using this scratcher, but it isn't at all interesting to my kitty. It's too narrow for him to want to scratch and he ignores it... which kinda defeats the purpose.

I've been using these for years. Everyone to whom I recommend them can't get over how their cats immediately leave the furniture alone and take to these boards. Many come with catnip. This one does not. The catnip is completely unnecessary and, in my opinion, harmful to the cats. Like drugs. If you have the floor space, the wider version is more stable.
