5 out of 5 stars This really helps!   September 21, 2007

Having a terrier with allergies, it was agony to see her scratching and biting herself and having her hair fall out. We tried the shots from the vet but they were expensive and became less effective after a while. So we turned to other ways to relieve her itch problem. First we gave her a supplement in her food, Lipiderm, an Omega 3&6 fatty acids w/vitamins A&E and that helped her skin. But she smelled bad from all the biting & scratching and the vet recommend using Histacalm Shampoo and it worked really well. "Abby" got a bath twice a week and it definitely helped her. Her hair grew back and she wasn't miserable anymore. Of course, anything you buy at the vet's office is expensive, so we bought it at various pet store links on the internet. The lowest price and the quickest delivery for this product is found on Amazon. Yes, I would highly recommend this product and you do not need a prescription from the vet.
