Great at the start....but doesn't stand the test of time. November 11, 2008 We have two cats and we wanted a litter box that would keep both us and our cats happy. For the first 3 years this box did the trick, but for the past year we have had major problems with the LR. It turns on and off by itself and almost never finishes a cycle. I've had to resort to unpluging the LR at night so my cats will at least have litter to use when they step into the box. Customer service has been horrible! I have called at least a dozen times, and no one has returned my phone call. I use to be a HUGE fan of the LR...but with their lack of help with their product has turned us away.
Worth EVERY penny!!! November 7, 2008 This robot litterbox is great!! It isn't exactly quiet and scared my cats at first. But they got used to it and all is great! It works really well. I love not having to scoop anymore! Just throw out the bag 2x a week. It's been a great 7 months, worth every penny!
Love my 4 Litter Robots! November 4, 2008 I now have four Litter Robots and I love them. I breed Siberian cats, a fairly large breed and while I haven't used it with my very large boy, partly for other reasons - he likes to dismantle things - it works very well with my cats - ranging from kitten to 14 lbs. When I have young kittens, I turn them off and run manually once or twice a day. I empty the bags probably twice a week with the relatively large population we have now. As soon as the kittens can scramble into them they start switching from the low boxes we use for them at first. I have had no problems with any of the units and cannot believe how much I like them! The house does not smell, the litter job is MUCH easier and the cats seem happy. They do occasionally kick litter out - but that happened with every litter box. I have four robots now for 12 kittens (9-10 weeks) and 4 female cats. Kittens will be leaving soon and then I can turn them on and empty less frequently...br /br /Probably the best money I've spent on a cat item!
it's great November 1, 2008 am one of the earliest customers for the product (2000) and love it. we upgraded to the new unit (with a bigger poop drawer). my only complaint is that even with the after-market litter guards (which they sell), there is still litter on the floor near the unit. but until cats stop scratching -- there isn't much choice.
Where has this been all my life? October 31, 2008 The Litter Robot arrived in a giant box, which was my first surprise. I don't know what I was expecting, but the machine is very large and resembles a tiny cement mixer or a gargantuan webcam. In any case, it was very easy to remove from the box and to assemble.br /br /Once I had it together and was ready to add the litter, I found that it was almost impossible to add it from the box into the cat entrance. Eventually I read the instructions and discovered there are two other holes and a "Fill" button to position them for pouring. They've thought of everything!br /br /I left the old litter box in there next to it (without scooping, since I figured it should be the less appealing of the choices). When I checked the drawer to see if anything had made its way down there, I was gratified to see that at least one of my three cats was using it. From the amount of clumps in the drawer, I suspect (and hope) that two cats are using it. The third cat leaves occasional surprises just outside the laundry room door, but I'm not yet sure which cat it is. I've eliminated one from suspicion, since I've seen him in there on two different occasions. So at least it's narrowed down.br /br /I guess I will have to try closing all three cats in the laundry room with the Robot and lots of food for a day or so and see if the mystery cat gets the hint or learns by example. Aside from that little glitch, which is not a product flaw but a scaredy-cat issue, I have to say that the Litter Robot was absolutely worth the price. I've been through two Litter-Maids; the first one got its wire caught in the rake and snapped. The second one just stopped dead for no reason after a month.br /br /The Litter Robot has made my least-favorite task a lot less disgusting. Hooray!! br /br /
