Product Description Veterinarians tend to agree that increased water consumption promotes good pet health. Your finicky dog or cat will be more likely to visit his water bowl if its contents are always fresh. Ideal for homes with single pets, this Designer Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain is a medium-capacity (50 oz.) water dispenser that provides fresh, filtered water for your pet, thanks to an ultra-quiet system that adds oxygen, filters water, and cools naturally for reduced odor and improved taste. The black base and chrome accents give this product a modern look and feel.

Loud and Overflowed September 2, 2008 The device vibrated and made an annoying sound. It didn't scare off my cat, but it annoyed me. After a while I started to get used to it and would have kept this product, except that it started to overflow. This happened to me twice and I just returned it. I may have gotten a bad one, but I was not pleased with this water dish.
Good idea if my cat wasn't afraid of it... August 28, 2008 So, I bought this product my my cat, Einstein. He was recently diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure, so I wanted to encourage him to drink more water. So far, he's doing o.k., but as far as the fountain...nothing. He will look at it and get close to it, but it's been a few weeks and thus far, not one drink. I even put treats around the edge for him. He ate the treats, but still, not one sip of the water. So, I'll keep it around and perhaps eventually he'll get used to it. It's a great idea if your cat isn't stubborn :)
pet fountain August 24, 2008 i have two cats, so i probably should have gotten the one that has a bigger capacity because i end up having to fill it up every other day. also, one of my cats was scared of it for about a week, but now shes fine. other than that its great!
My 7 Cats Love It! August 17, 2008 At first, the older cats were a tad suspicious of the new gadget... but the younger ones took to the Petmate Fountain right away. For a week or two, I left out a couple of the water dishes I used to use, until everyone adjusted to the new fountain.
Now, all the cats drink from it happily. They love the fresh water, and are now drinking more water than they did before. I did elevate the fountain a bit, so that they do not have to crouch down to drink. Most prefer to drink the water at the top.
I just have to change the filter once a month, wash out the appliance once a week, and rinse the filter once a week. Most of my cats are long-haired, and the filter that is on the pump has adequately trapped the fur.
At first the maintenance seems awkward, but once you've done it, it's very easy to disassemble, clean and reassemble.
So far, I am pleased with this fountain. I plan to purchase more of this particular model in the future.
cat'smeow August 14, 2008 Both the cats love it and I get to fill their water bowl less often. in addition, they are receiving clean, filtered water. It makes hardly any noise. Definitely worth the purchase!
