| Customer Reviews:
best pet purchase i have made in a long time. March 15, 2008 the litter locker is the best item i have purchased in a long time. it took me a few minutes to figure out how to put it together but the instructions were easy to read. i use crystal litter and it works great. it may make a diffrence with the type litter you use. i think you would get more use of the bags with the crystals since it dries out the poop. i have no more odor, which is why i purchased the locker, just scoop the litter, pop it in the top and twist the handles and its gone! so far the bags have lasted over a month without refilling, its a lot better way of handeling used litter than bagging and tossing in garbage. i love mine!
Piece of junk March 4, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
So we are a 4 cat household and thought the litter locker would be just the thing for keeping down odors with multiple scoops per day. We used it for three days and it fell out of the round track, it leaked litter all over, and it stunk up the bathroom worse than an open litter box. Maybe this would work well for a single cat home, but for several it's not worth the investment. Plus, they're not made well. The plastic is cheap, the parts barely fit together, and nothing holds in the odor with the plastic bags. We've decided to go with a diaper genie. At least those twist off the "deposits" and keep the stench from spreading.
Decent product but expensive refill cartridges October 25, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This review of Litter Locker assumes the following: [1] one litter box and two kittens/young adults, [2] scooping the litter box no less than twice a day, [3] non-clumping clay litter, and [4] emptying the unit out once a day (not two weeks as advertised).
I am satisfied with how LitterLocker works. It's convenient, especially in the morning before I head off to work since it saves me a trip to the dumspter. (In fact, my intention in buying this product is to save myself a trip to the dumpster in the morning.) The unit contains the odor well in terms of not stinking up your entire living room during the day (and the fact that I place it in a rather remote corner certainly contributes the odor-control effectiveness), but once you open the unit up to clean at the end of the day, that's another story.
My main complaint about this product is how fast the refill cartridge gets used up and how expensive it is. I have to replace the cartridge about once a week. The retail price is about $10; the cheapest I could find is about $6.50 (shipping excluded). That's $30-40 per month, and, of course, that's not the only cat expenses I have. Honestly, I'd rather spent that money to buy premium/organic wet food for my cats. I still use the Litter Locker, but not as frequently (I found another way to save a trip to the dumpster in the morning).
PRO: The mechanism works well, and the product is definitely convenient.
CON: The refill cartridges don't last very long and are too expensive to replace regularly.
Bags will tear! October 13, 2007 The bags in this contraption will tear once it starts filling up, making you have to clean the whole thing, which is not very fun. Ended up throwing the thing away because it was more trouble than it was worth.
Best invention since cats! October 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Makes cleaning up after two cats a breeze. I have had no problems with odor nor bags ripping, etc. I think the key is READING THE INSTRUCTIONS carefully. A+++ product.
