An excellent mat for you GPS August 17, 2008 I am using this mat for 6 month. So far, I am very satisfied with the product. You can conveniently remove it from the dash and put it back without detaching the power cord. The mat has never felt.
Tight fit for the Nuvi 760 August 16, 2008 For $11.50 (and no shipping, due to our Prime account) this is a very decent purchase. I drive a Civic Hybrid, and the larger friction mats are just too big for where I want to place the GPS. I was tired of attaching the suction mount to the windshield and dealing with the tell-tale suction marks.
The mat will not budge, the suction stays sucked, and the mat is a great size for the dash. It's hefty but not overwhelming, and it feels well-made.
So why three stars? The suction mount for the Garmin 760 isn't tall enough to let the GPS clear the "donut" portion of this mat. That means even after pushing the GPS (as much as I dare push an expensive little electronic device) the GPS sits tilted up, toward the sun, and attracts glare. (I uploaded a picture I took with my Blackberry.)
Still, for long drives, and I do take a lot of them, I can put up with the nuisance of not seeing the screen as well as I'd like and being able to quickly disconnect the GPS and put it in the purse and throw the mat in the glovebox while I run into a gas station market. A taller GPS mount would cure this, obviously.
Good choice August 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The previous reviews on this product were very helpful. I had been advised against this purchase but made the purchase on the basis of the reviews. On a recent trip it worked fine. It does not move; there's nothing sticky to tarnish the dash; it gives me a lower, more direct eye level view than having the GPS unit mounted on the windshield (I'm short). I have been using the pad in a Mazda 5; it sits just to my right on the dash (not a completely flat surface but it molds itself somewhat). It allows use of the GPS unit in a manner that does not obstruct anything I need to see.
Friction mat for GPS August 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love the friction mat for my GPS. It is perfect size, you never have to worry about it slipping off the dashboard. I highly recommend it.
Must Have GPS Product August 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product is so good I no longer even use the suction mount that came with my GPS unit. It makes it so easy to take my GPS from vehical to vehical that I plan to buy another one for other items that I have.
