works for me! August 2, 2008 although it seems like everyone has a different taste when it comes to kitty litter, this is the one that i'm going to stick with from now on. i've been looking for an organic litter for a while now, and this one clumps really well; it clumps as well as any non-organic litter. it's also much less dusty than some of the clay-based litters (e.g. fresh scoop). i love that you can just flush this down the toilet (although of course you should only put in a bit at a time to avoid clogging). the only downside is that it doesn't seem to absorb smell quite as well as some clay-based litters, but for our household it's really not a problem the majority of the time. i may try the extra-strength version of this later to see if that works better, but for now this is my number one choice.
Best Cat Litter Especially For Automatic Litter Boxes July 28, 2008 Hey the title says it all. It's kind of odd this litter is VERY lite. Yea lite as in doesn't weigh as much. This makes the little crappy motors in like my LitterMaid litter box work MUCH better. Oddly enough I have one that is over 5 years old and was starting to not work well. I changed litters from a clay base to this one and suddenly it works better than the newer models with the wire rakes. Don't get me wrong it still works great on those also but the older plastic one works better than it ever has.
Not so humble in name but a great product July 13, 2008 You gotta be suspicious of anyone who calls themselves the "Worlds Best". I tried it anyway, and at least for my family, the product is as described. There is no problem with dust anymore; the clay-based products that were used previously smelled bad and made my asthma act up. There is much less tracking and clean up is a cinch. The clumping action is excellent and the clumps do not stick to the cat box. The only smell is that of the corn the product is made of. I am also using less of this product than the clay products - it lasts a long time. Try it; I think you will be pleased.
This litter has changed my life June 29, 2008 Over the past 28 years my cats and I have experimented with various litter and litterbox configurations, progressing from perfumed clay to clumping to crystals to Swheat Scoop, and now to World's Best. We have also tried all the bells-and-whistles litterboxes, including my husband's long-standing and pathetic infatuation with Littermaid. For the past year our solution with our three cats has been simply The World's best Cat Litter and two covered litterboxes made by Van Ness. Yes, the product is high out-of-pocket, and yes, it tends to scatter because of the light weight. HOWEVER, a 17-lb. bag lasts several weeks because there is rarely a need to do a complete litter change. The clumping action is so effective that there is no sticky or moist residue left in the box. It scoops out cleanly and flushes safely, no matter how large the clumps. They break up in the toilet water. We simply top off with a bit to replenish what has been scooped out. The covered litterbox keeps the scatter factor down to a bare minimum, with just a wee bit from tracking on the cats' paws. Simple to pick up with a Dustbuster or dustpan and brush. As for the complaints others have voiced about odor control - this has more to do with what you may be feeding your cats than the litter itself. Our cats are on a dry-food only diet of Innova Evo. Highly nutritious and low stink factor coming out the other end. Also, if I may be more explicit, very small turds to scoop out. Surely the lidded box has something to do with keeping odor down when the box is first used, but I find on lifting the lid to scoop that there is very little unpleasant odor. Odor is controlled naturally by enzymatic action with the corn-based product, not masked with other additives. I have never experienced the "clouds of dust" others have mentioned, either. This product lives up to its name and is priced efficiently for the value it provides. Highest recommendation.
World's Best Cat Litter June 8, 2008 For a change I seem to have found a product that lives up to its name. After fifteen years with the same cat and different litters my search for a litter seems to be over. It is as good as any I've tried. It clumps well but isn't made of dusty and possibly harmful bentonite. It is made from corn. World's Best Cat Litter 00558 Original 34lb It absorbs odors well but it does not have any smelly perfumes to discourage the cat from using it and smell up the place. The cat likes it well enough to use it reliably and it saves me a lot of time. When the litter in the box gets low enough so it sticks to the bottom it is easy to scrape off(I use a Scoopwell). It is as dust free as any I've tried.
