I cannot imagine a condition in which the food directly causes the eyes to run. It is more likely that your cat has something else going on and the act of eating or just putting her head down exasperates the discharge. Many cats are carriers of the feline herpes virus and this can cause eye discharge without other symptoms. Have your veterinarian take a close look at her eyes at her next exam.
