Default cats whiskers

do cats lose their whiskers naturally like they shed their fur?? I have found several whiskers on the floor this week but didn't think they lost their whiskers.

Question

Fom time to time I also found a couple of whiskers they shed, but this happens very rarely, so I thought it must be the result of their playing or fighting together ? I also wish to get an answer to this mystery..
Luckily they all still got enough amount of whiskers attached.. so I'm not that worried...

Default It's true!

Yes, cats do shed their whiskers, a bit like we lose our eyelashes - but they are very slow growing and so don't come out that often. You can sometimes see the new little ones growing from the follicles

Thumbs up

Yes they lose them, don't panic. It's a sign of maturity
