Like chirping?
Like he does toward the laser?

My guess, from reading various cat sites, and here from others' replies, it's a call they do when they're stalking something.. Like a hunting call. Or they want something, and can't get it, so they just talk to it instead.

Cami will "coo" at me when she is comfortable, usually right before she starts kneading. I've asked the vet, and he says it means she is extremely content He called it "chirping" but it sounds more like the cooing of a pigeon!

Yeah, I kind of know why my Princess does 'chirp' whenever she sees a bird or a bug !! Fantastic, it's a hunting call !!

Good one Acer........ Have to laugh at your translation. Zipper chirps sometimes but Jasmine was the Queen of all chirpers. She would do it for long periods of time when she layed in front of the patio door and look at the birds in the back yard.
