Default Adjusting my cat to new home

We brought her to our new townhouse and she cried all night long. I was so concerned about her disturbing the neighbors I brought her back to where she was before. Someone suggested we bring her over to the new place for a few hours a day but I'm afraid that bringing her back and forth will stress her out even more. She's always been pretty high strung. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome, sorry to hear of your problem. I wouldn't ferry her back and forth, as you say it will stress her out even more. I think you will have to ride it out to get her used to the new place as soon as possible. Make sure she is surrounded by things with familiar scents like bedding, toys etc. Let her have a good explore and I'm sure she will settle down before too long.

A lot of people on this site recommend Feliway plug ins to calm a stressed or nervous cat down. I've not used them but they seem to work for quite a few, so if you can get hold of some perhaps that would help.

Good luck, I hope it works out for you
