Default Fur Loss?

My cat Sammy seems to be having fur loss on his lower belly, just between his hindquarters. The fur's not entirely gone, but it's very, very thin. His twin brother Smokey is fine, though, so I don't really understand what caused this. It was kinda gradual, and I first noticed it a few weeks ago, but it keeps getting worse. He only has a few occasional fleas, but I don't think they're causing the problem, because cats can't really scratch under their bellies good. However, Sammy does have a little bit of a nervous disorder - he was attacked by a coyote once and since then, he's been very nervous, like jumping and running behind the couch when someone touches him, and then he usually stays behind the couch for a few hours.

Is this a nervous disorder, or could it be a disease? And does it need to be seen by a vet?

I would take him to a vet anyway, just to rule out any underlying issues. Sounds like he's had a rough life... How long has it been since he was attacked?

There are many possible reasons for fur loss problem in cats. Some are normal, while other hair loss in cats can indicate an illness that requires medical attention. I suggest you bring him to the vet.

It's been about four or five month. And just today I noticed that more of his fur has fallen out on the backs of his hindlegs. I think I'll take him to the vet...
