Apparently 'Devon Rex' and 'MaineCoon' are suitable, unforunately I don't know if the 'Ragamuffin' is suitable for you, if your allergies aren't too servere then you could try allergy pills, or depending on where you live it is possible to have injections to help with your allergies, I know when I lived in Canada I had quite a few cats and kept my allergies under control with the injections, it is only since returning to England that I can't get injections that I have had to resort to pills again. Yes you should consider getting two kitties, for company. Good luck.

Hi,

Here's a link for you from a really good article. Hypoallergenic Cat Breeds - LoveToKnow Cats The four breeds they mention are the same breeds mentioned by other sites as well. So, these seem to be your choices:

Sphynx, Devon Rex, Cornish Rex, and Siberian (which are long haired but genetically produce less allergen)

There is another breed, the Allerca which has recently been unveiled as a genetically engineered hypo-allergenic cat. There is some debate as to the truth of that, and they are super-expensive.

I'd love to pipe in and say Maine Coons, (I've heard this too) since I have two awesome ones and I'm a big fan of the breed, but I couldn't find anything verifying this!

Good luck,
~Carrie~
