Default Puffy reddish ear

And the worries begin...

I'm taking Lestat to the vet tonight because yesterday I noticed what seems to be a small wound in his right ear. It's a bit puffy and reddish, don't know if he bumped into something (during his midnight crazies - hunting and running through the apartment like if there's no tomorrow ehehe), if it's a scratch or a bug bite... He's an indoor cat so I'm not sure how a bug could bite him, but 2 weeks ago when I picked him up from the breeder, he had some fleas and I had to apply Frontline Combo. Could a flea bite do that?

This morning it seemed better much better but just in case I'm going to the vet anyway because he's been scratching his ears a lot for the last couple of days and that could mean something is wrong.

Lu

P.S. btw my kitten turned 5 months today

Taking him to the vet is the right thing to do. Ear infections left untreated can turn nasty, and the longer they go on, the harder they are to fix, and...also can cause life time problems.

Let us know how Lestat makes out at the vet.

Not sure if it's just a coincidence or not but he barely ate yesterday and today I arrive home to notice that he hasn't touched his food.

He turned 5 months old today and he's going through teething. He already has a few adult teeth. Could it be sore gums? Should I try canned food as it is softer? Makes me sad that he hasn't eaten for a couple of days... My bf says he's becoming picky with the food because I feed him canned food once a week but I'm not sure that's the reason. He's been chewing a lot too, I even bought a dental care health toy appropriate for teething which is soft and nice to chew on and he uses it often.

Oh well, I think I worry too much about my pets...? I'm going to the vet tonight, so I'll just ask her. Will let you know what happened at the vet when I come back.

Good evening acerlt,

I'm afraid I don't have good news. Lestat's ear was just a scratch but the vet suspects he has Leukopenia and he was hospitalized.

I posted the whole story in Cat Chat.
