Default adding a mom and kitten to an existing cat home

A quick background. "Pookie", female calico 4 years old lost her best friend "Woody" this past summer. Woody a male domestic shorthair left us at a young age.

Grandaughter moved in with a mom, "bear" and five kittens. 4 kittens have been adopted, we chose to keep "benny" a male orange . Kittens age about 7 weeks.

Bear and benny live in granddaughters room, pookie roams the house at will. I have been spreading scent around using bedding and other items and the usual hissing

occurs from pookie. I showed Pookie the kitten and she hisses so I returned benny to his room .Pookie was sitting outside the bedroom and when we opened the door

bear ran after pookie and it was terrible. no injuries but terrible. Pookie goes outside all day so we let the mom and kitten roam around the house. My wife is stressed

out. a lot.

I need advice on this situation. I read about getting two cats to like each other but I think bear first and foremost is protecting benny her baby. Pookie is more

accepting because she comes upstairs at night to our room like she used to do but bear ,once out, will chase her. Bear is one of the calmest cats i have ever seen until

this which I expected. Help.

55 views and not even one piece of advice. My research has provided me with some sensible answers from experts. I guess until i want to post some pictures of my cats doing fun stuff i should avoid this forum.
See you all later

Ding dong!!
