Ask people you know who have pets - neighbors, workmates, friends, etc. Word is mouth is always the best recommendation in my opinion.

Yeah, I think that is the proper way to do it. You can ask around the neighborhood. I am pretty sure one or two might turn up and recommend someone to you. Also you can check the local paper and search for doctors and ask reviews from their patients right?
