Default kitten biting hair.... in middle of night... help!

HI all! I am new here, and am at my wit's end... Help.

My 9 mo barn-made domestic kitten, who was very sick at the start of her life, has taken on a new personality in her revived health. While she was cute and fun when she played with my hair rubber bands (even fetched) and we spent hours on the weekends watching TV and fetching... she is now a PAIN.

She wakes me up every night at 3am, 4, 5, 6, etc, each hour trying to take the rubber band out of my hair... i have tried spraying her til my bed was soaked, flicking her nose, throwing her off of the bed rather forcefully, ignoring her, playing before bed, eating before bed, EVEN spraying bitter apple spray in my OWN hair to divert her. NOTHING works. I play with her a ton after work, with Da Bird, and laser lights, so i know it is not that she is bored.

I am looking for ANY help, since it seems i have tried everything. I cannot lock her out of the room due to the sweltering heat of my room without living room AC, her scratching at the rug under the door, and her incessant meowing anyway, which is equally tiring. Signed, desperate and tired...

Oh.... and i know... i know... "just don't wear your hair up to sleep." I already tried this, she still attacks my hair alone then.... (it is like she is obsessed with even the possibility of a rubber band there. she is conditioned herself to do this it seems.

My cat used to do the same when he was a kitten along with digging his claws in the back of my neck and back sometimes even drawing blood!

He doesn't do it anymore, so I can only assume it is something some moggies grow out of
