Default Scratching everything and trying to steal my food

I am new to cats and not sure how to modify their behaviors as far as discipline and training, if thats even possible.
My two new kittens are climbing my furniture, curtains, and even people, started that one today. I have heard of using a spray bottle with water in it to detur behaviors. Does this work or are there better methods?

Also whenever I eat anything they are all up in my face trying to get it and as many times as I move them and tell them no, they don't seem to catch on. At that point my hands are usually full and I wouldn't be able to grab a spray bottle even if I wanted to. What can I do to stop this behavior any suggestions?

Well, kittens are kittens... yes, they do all what you described but you
must teach them as much as you can, not always with a great success, I must said. The water spray bottle is one of the possibilities & another one is to applaud & shout loudly "no!".
One thing I can assure you: approx. at 5-6 months old they must be spayed, then they will calm down. ..

Good luck & pls be patient,

"If animals could speak the dog would be a a blundering outspoken fellow, but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much."
