Default Help! My cat is TOO affectionate!

So, as a lifelong cat person, I never thought I'd ever complain about a cat being overly affectionate. Right now I have twin sisters, Ava and Emmy, who just turned two. I've had them since January. Initially, Ava was the more affectionate of the two and she is still affectionate at a normal level. Emmy was much more introverted for the first few weeks, and gradually became more affectionate. Since moving to my new apartment, she has become nothing short of neurotic when it comes to affection. She follows me everywhere. If I shut the bathroom door she yowels until I open the door. She also yowels for the first 10 minutes or so after I go to be (I do not allow the cats in my bedroom as I also have two guinea pigs that have the bedroom to themselves). If I sit down at the table, she jumps up on it, despite using the water spray bottle technique to discourage this behavior. She gets on the kitchen counter when I cook, and the second I sit down on the couch she is on my lap. She pushes her way onto my lap no matter what I'm doing, no matter who I'm with, and pushes her head against my hand until I pet her. Unless I pay attention to her she meows insistently until I do. At first it was cute, but it's starting to drive me nuts. It's not that she's affectionate; its that she demands my attention for the majority of the time that I'm out of my bedroom. I should also mention that after moving to the same apartment she started peeing on the carpet, which was not due to a UTI.
I forgot to add as well that part of this behavior includes heavy kneading (which really hurts as she isn't declawed), throwing her entire body weight on my arms so I have to stop whatever I'm doing (like she's doing right now), and sticking her butt in my face. She also sits on the side of the bathtub (she won't stop yowling if I'm in the bathroom and she's not, unlike the bedroom situation) and meows at me to pet her. She's even jumped on my lap while I'm on the toilet.

ANY feedback would be awesome. I love my kitties more than I could ever express, but it's like having a clingy child around... it's starting to drive me a bit batty. I hope I don't sound whiny, and it wouldn't be an issue if she was just affectionate... But this cat seriously clings to me every second I'm in my apartment. For example, right now, despite me setting her down on the floor five times, she is on my lap with her front paws clinging to my right arm.

Hi,I'm Cheryl.Welcome,I have a similar problem with one of my Siamese mix brothers 6mths old.I had Finn first, and he was very loving and affectionate. Then I adopted his brother Harley too.Finn sort of took a back seat,if I pet Finn,Harley gets very jealous and comes over and pushes in,and like your Emmy he wont leave me alone,he has jumped on my lap 3 times already as I'm writing this.I hate to do it but I just have to shout "no" when I put him down on the floor. He has jumped up on the bed now,and is settled.Good luck.xxxxx

Unhappy

I also have a similar problem with my little Dino. He would never let you do what you have to do. I feel free when he sleeps for ex.
When I'm in front of my PC I prefer to close the door & don't let him in.
I hope in a couple of months all will be Okay with all our kits.

Good luck,
