Exclamation How do you keep a territorial female cat from urinating on the furniture?

This cat is approximately 3 years old. SHE IS FIXED.

The reason everyone believes she urinates on things is because she's being territorial. There is another female cat in the house (who is fixed also) and they do not get along. The other female cat will not pee on everything though, she just will attack her if she gets too close.

The cat urinates usually always on the kitchen table, especially if the table has been moved. Or if there is an item she doesn't like on the table (a coat, hat, ect...) she will directly pee on the item.

She stopped this behavior for a while but now she's just starting to do it again. Just a few minutes ago she urinated on the bed. The bed is in a room where the other cat usually hangs out.

How do we stop this behavior?

first thing to do is take her to the vet and have her urine checked for infections and crystals.

The number one reason cats urinate out of the litter box is urinary tract problems.

Sounds like stress. I've used the feliway plug-in with great success too and recommend it. Also, do you clean the areas she has peed with an enzymatic cleaner? (like Nature's Miracle or the more concentrated "online orders only" ones) You can add it to clothes in the washer too. If not, she can smell where she has urinated before and will go back again.
