Question A wallpaper fetish????

Not too sure what to do about this one! For the past few nights, I've heard what I thought was scratching in the kitty litter pan. I THOUGHT! What it turned out to be was one of my boys (Capone, to be exact) pulling wallpaper off of my bedroom wall by using his teeth. I thought about spraying the area with some "Boundary" that I have here at home, but not sure what that might do to my wall. I hate to close my bedroom door, since Dillinger loves to take his naps on my file cabinet in my room. My bed is as close to the wall as I can get it but Capone still wiggles his way in between the wall and bed. What does he find so exciting about my wallpaper?? How can I get him to stop pulling it off the wall?? He has plenty of toys of his own, too. Both cats are 11 months old. Cats have owned me all of my life, but never have I seen anything like this before. Thanks! Jano

My past Emperor The Great Ludo has done this
with anything label/sticky. My only way to get
him to quit was to make it stickier, not pleasant
for him to touch it, or rub lemon peelings (fresh ones)
on the area.

Hmm---you have some great ideas! I never thought about making it stickier. He sure wouldn't like that feeling in his mouth! I wonder what I could use that wouldn't dry out. I did spray some Boundary on a small area of the wall this afternoon and Capone immediately backed away. But that won't last for more than a day. I'd better check the rest of the wallpaper in my bedroom---I wonder how much more he has pulled off that I don't know about..... HIDE AND SEEK! Thanks for your ideas, Tiggerpaws!

get some double sided sticky tape.

like this:Cat training aid: Paws Away Scratch Strips at Drs. Foster & Smith

it comes in rolls or strips.

My Mazy tore an entire border off the wall, a little bit at a time. I don't even know how she reached it, I never saw her doing it, she's a sneaky one and does things like that only when I am not home. . Wish I'd though of the sticky tape!

Your quite welcome, I do hope the ideas work,
something harmless such as syrup or honey
on the already damaged areas that he is most
likely to put into his mouth I would think, as
I do not think you would want to plaster sticky
honey all over everywhere, and it just is not needed
if he hasn't grabbed ahold of it yet.

Another great idea! I NEVER thought of double stick tape either! Between all of the great ideas that have been sent me, I'm sure I'll get some results!
