Default Acting Out After Being Gone...

So right now I live with my parents and so does my cat Buffy.
She's about a yr and a half now. She's been very close to me since I got her a year ago. She doesn't really like other people.

I've recently gotten a new boyfriend and have been spending the weekends with him.

Since doing this she's been acting out and when I come back she's very needy.
She gets into things more and I can tell she doesn't like me being gone. She sits by the door a lot when I'm not home.

What can I do to make her feel better when I leave?

What kind of care does she get when you are gone? Has she lived all her life there at your parents house? Don't they pay attention to her, feed her, play with her, cuddle her when you are gone?

I think you should stop leaving her alone so much if it upsets her.

They key is what acerit pointed out about your parents. If they give her attention, even if its not the same (cats pick their favourites) she can feel better than if she is just walking around looking for you.

I don't know if its possible, but another option would be to take her with you the weekends.
