Hello!
I have two male cats (one is 12 yrs old and the other is 10 yrs old). Recently one of them (we have yet to figure out who) has decided that our mudroom is a fine place to leave a pile of poo. What's increasingly odd about this is that we only find the poo first thing in the morning which tells me that they are doing this while we are all asleep. I have tried to use the foil technique and it works but then the cat gets smart and finds another spot. It also seems like he only wants to go in one area which is around the door. I also tried to fabreeze the area but that didn't do a thing. We have closed the shades (thinking there was a stray that could be causing the problem), but that didn't do anything either. The kitties have a rather large litter box that they have been sharing siince we got them 10 years ago. We haven't changed the brand of litter since then, and the box gets cleaned every other day. We took the cats to the vet recently for thier checkup and mentioned the problem. Dr said it could be territorial..but no suggestions were made. I'm at wits end, and my hubby is getting impatient. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
