Me and my family had just moved from a court where there were heaps of cats and my two cats were always around the other cats playing with them and occasionally fighting lol. and they were always really active and running around. recently we moved and for about 2 cats of being in this new house i had both of them meowing and crying for 2 days in hiding spots. and now all they do is eat and sleep and they hardly ever go outside anymore. they seem really depressed what should i do?
They will react to loosing contacts with their friends,,..but after having contact with 'other' cats you might want the vet to test them for things they might have contacted from exposure...They will be OK...they are CATS..but do take them to the vet for tests if they have been in contact with other unknown cats.
If you had kids and you moved them from a crowded neighborhood to a quiet one where there were no kids to play with, they would be lonely and depressed too. Of course they are going to miss their friends. They will find new things in their new yard and neighborhood. Maybe their scents will call some other friends from nearby.
