Default How do I clean up cat residue from white paint?

Hi, I'm new here. Great forum!

My cat Lucy likes to rub up against convex corners, especially the door jamb, a cabinet corner, and a corner in my room near her bed. She's a black tuxedo & my walls & the cabinet are white....now I have this oily, grayish residue where she rubs. It's really noticible.

What can I use to clean it off? I've tried Simple Green & plain white vinegar, but they don't take off the oily marks.

Once I do clean it off, should I install those things on the corners so she can rub up against them (can't remember what they are called, but they're kind of like a brush & fit on wall corners).

I appreciate the help!

Thanks,
Lucy's Mom

Thumbs up

Hi!

Try with Clorox, it is the best. I'm cleaning the white paint with it always
without any problem...

Just wondering, wouldn't Clorox dissolve the paint too? I only use that when washing clothes.

Do I use straight bleach, or watered down, or is there a spray cleaner? I was hoping to use something that wouldn't be harmful to my kitty.

Anybody ever use those corner things I mentioned?

Well I always use the spray, directly without any water.
It is NOT HARMFUL for your kitty, don't be concerned, go ahead!

Thanks for the info. I actually found another alternative - rubbing alcohol.

I put some on a cotton pad & it dissolved the residue off both the walls & the cabinet! Then I wiped it off with a damp cloth & voila! All clean!
