I have two cats mollie and zen a female and male both are neutered.
zen the male cat a week ago ate the tips off my aloe vera plant he seems ok now but, he keeps hissing for no reason.
He performs one hiss even when he is in a room on his own, I cannot think of anything that would make him hiss as it does not seem to be directed at someone. My daughter seems to think he has tourrets syndrome!
Hmm I really can't think of anything that might have set him off aside from tourettes or that he's hissing at ghosts, haha. How long have you had this cat? Are you sure he's not hissing at the other cat?
We have quite a few cats and even though they've been together for years now they still hiss and occasionally fight with one another.

Ah Huh, thanks for your two cents although I'm sure there's no ghosts, but he does hiss at mollie occasionally. He is generally a bad tempered cat, but first thing in the morning he is as gentle as a lamb. I've had him for about 6 years and oh! he has just attacked mollie, they are now chasing each other around the room. I was wondering whether the aloe vera had gone to his brain cos he still hisses in a room when he is on his own.
