This is a very good book on Cats. It's great for the beginner as well as the long time owner. It is an enjoyable read and very informative. I learned some new things and really enjoyed the book.
Customer Review: Very good behavioral info, missed the mark on nutrition
While all of Ms. Johnson-Bennett's insights on cat (and human) behavior ring true to this cat lover, I feel that she missed the mark completely in her assertion that most commercial foods are as 'nutritionally complete' as they would like consumers to believe. For high quality nutritional information, I suggest "The New Natural Cat" by Anitra Frasier, "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats" by Richard Pitcairn, and "Natural Healing for Dogs and Cats" and "The Natural Remedy Book for Dogs and Cats" by Diane Stein. These all contain much more in depth information about what our animal companions need, how most (not all) commercial foods fail pitifully, and how to best feed pets on any budget. Look deeper, you will find wonderful information just inside the cover.
