Default Pregnancy Problem maybe?

My cat 2 years old had kittens 2 days ago. She had 4 but the next day one was born dead. I'm not sure she expelled the after birth. If so she ate it. She's been bleeding spots here and there since. Nothing major just 3 little spots since then. She's acting a little lethargic but she just delivered so I'm sure she's tired. If the after birth was not expelled could this harm her? And what should I do? Take her to the vet or something else?

Thanks

In my opinion since you don't know she expelled everything you may want to have a vet check her out. If she has some remaining tissue inside it will decay and she will become septic just like human would if the afterbirth doesn't all come out. It is possible that it did come out and she ate it. They do this for the nutrients in it. But wouldn't you want to be on the safe side anyway. There are others on here that can expand on this subject. She will be tired for a few days. You will also notice she will start shedding as well and this is also normal. Its a hormonal thing with females. As long as the blood loss isn't a lot and it stops its normal. Its the uterus sloughing off the remaining tissues. Always call your vet if you're not sure of something or if you feel something isn't right. Anyway congrats on your new little ones and get lots of pictures.
