You may have a Ragdoll, but without its registration papers and pedigree you cannot prove it. The value of a pedigreed cat is based on the championship points it has earned or its parents have earned in the show ring. Professional breeders will almost never sell a kitten that has a good chance of being a champion or grand champion. They will keep them for breeding and instead sell you a "pet quality" cat that they will require you spay or neuter in their sales contract. If you purchase a show quality pet for the purpose of competitive showing, breeding or studding, you will pay top dollar. But at some point, even grand champions are retired, neutered and either adopted out or sold at a reduced price to make room in the cattery. Ragdolls are very, very docile and laid back cats. They are also a VERY large breed. Ragdolls can easily reach 20 pounds, especially the males. Females will weigh about 15 pounds. Compared to the average cat of 10 pounds, that's quite a difference in size. In any event, all kitties are priceless once they become our beloved companions and family members.
