Post To many cats!

Just read a great article about why there are to many cats around. This is why all cat owners should spay or neuter their cats. One of my 2 cats already have been fixed, and the other one is getting it done next week.

What are your thoughts?

This is definitely a pro spay and neuter site. I personally am against all breeding, but can't speak for the site in general on that.

Hurray for you, getting your cats done. That's called responsible pet ownership!

I am 110% for the spaying/neutering of cats. Not only does it help with population control (because there are so many homeless kitties out there :[), but it's also healthy for your animal.

Now declawing... that's a whole different ball park

Declawing will never be a plus, no matter how anyone tries to rationalize it.

Spay/Neuters are beneficial in so many ways, it's a wonder so many people don't have it done.

I completely agree with spaying and neutering and I am also totally against breeding. Why, other than greed, would someone breed cats when there are thousands of homeless little kitties just waiting to be adopted and give you their unconditional love. I realize that some people enjoy so-called pure-bred cats , some like persian some like bengal, but I'm sure you can find homeless bengals, persians, etc., too.

I'm definitely pro spay/neuter and against declawing! When I worked at Petco (now I work at Petsmart) this man brought in a cat that had JUST been declawed. I dunno if this is how it's done everywhere or was this malpractice, but the cat's paws were all bloody and he wanted to get a bath. I told him that we couldn't bathe the cat and that that was very sad. I was depressed for the rest of the day

Oh and I'm dying to get a Bengal, but I'm only gonna look in shelters and for strays. I'm not selfish enough to support a wretched breeder!

Well you have to know what declawing does to understand why.. Although I'd have thought the vet would at least clean it up, so I suspect some malpractice there as well.

I already knew what declawing was, but decided to look it up anyway. I couldn't even finish reading the article because my stomach started turning (I just ate). I would post it, but I don't have 25 posts. But I'm sure any article on declawing would be enough to steer people away from having the procedure done. It's just horrible

And the sad part is, the vets that do it won't tell you that part because they're in it for the money.
