Default kitty litter

I would like to hear from cat owners not those who have something to sellwhat kitty litter do you like? I am new and started with a clumping one called "Cats Pride Complete for multi cats". It has a red cap. The one with the pink cap, called "Cats Pride" seems to be more dusty. I scoop the clumps out several times a day. Basily whenever I walk by and it looks like it Skitter has been in the box.
  1. What brand have you found to be best?
  2. How often do you competely change the litter box?

Thanks

I've been using Fresh Step. It's just as dusty as every other brand I've tried. My cat seems to love the brand though. I completely clean the litterbox out once a week, and replace the box about once a month.

So you replace the box (mine is plastic) once a month? I hope that does not sound like a dumb question. As I have said before I have been just recently adopted by this cat. She came onto our door step at a very good/bad time. Bad because it was super cold and since she was "wild" all I could do was leave food for her. Good because now being retired I have time to spend with her. Before my wife and I retired we were gone during the week so the Skitter would not have had much quality time with us. Now she has us wrapped around her paw.

We use the crystal style litter. Scoop and stir once a day. There is never odor. This stuff will last at least two weeks with an average cat.

Tater thats for the info

But my cat is far from average. She scores a 96 on paw swatting. Even though she tends to be a lefty, she has 4 paw drive. She scores way above average on purring. She not only purrs frequently, but if she does not get her way she can really turn up the volume. And Meow, when she wants something she wants it now.

Then looks, who thinks their cat is average in the looks department. Mine, I know, is outstanding. Who could not lover her, well ok, my wife and I think she is a super cat.

Seriously does the crystal stuff lock in the odor well. I have not noticed any odor and more importantly neither has our cat, as I am told if the cat thinks it is smelly they will not use it. And there smelling ability is better than ours. How many of us can smell a mouse 50 feet away? But I (as a person) can smell fresh baked bread and a pizza at about those distances.
