Arrow My own homemade melange

We ran out of cat food the other day and I didn't have time to go to the store. I took some canned salmon and mushed it fine with a fork, I mixed in some cooked rice and a splash of milk and blended it all together very well. This seemed to please the cats no end. I also usually take the "waste" parts of cooked chicken like wings and backs and shred the meat without the skin. This way nothing of that "people food" goes to waste. My cats also like shredded turkey or roast beef. Of course I give them their regular cat chows too because I know those commercial dry foods have a lot of the stuff they need in their diets.

P.S. My dog thinks he is a cat or wants to be a cat. Sometimes he won't eat his food until I sprinkle a few pieces of dry cat food on it.

Wow!! Your recipe sounds yummy to Polo. She says meow!! Next time, I run out of cat food instead of running to the store right away I would try this and get back to you on how Polo liked it

Rats, my house cats turn their noses up at salmon, but the outside ferals love it. I'll have to try this so they can get a bit of variety in their poor lives.
