Any pet food is decent. The main thing you want to look out for is when you buy food ensure the first 5 ingredients listed aren't Corn, Whole Corn, Ground Corn or any other types of corn. This is a filler and it cause more waste than any other ingredient. It's designed to get your pet full fast but it cases a lot of stool. Look for their natural recipes with no corn or by-products. Just think of commercial brand food (ex: Purina, iams, store brands, pedigree, meow mix) as fast food for your pet. Maybe paying a bit more for the healthier brands (ex: Science Diet, Nutro, Eukanuba, Nature's Recipe) may work even better. If you want price over quality then ye go ahead but if you want quality or price I would shop at either Petco or PetsMart. Hope this helps.

Kirkland brand food has not been associated with any of the recall lists. The dog food, and I believe the cat food (although I don't have a full bag of it here and had to rely on ingredients lists I could find online) are wheat gluten free and that is the ingredient suspected to be related to the kidney failure in pets related to the recall. Also, it's just good quality food that is affordable, high in nutrients and good protiens and low in fillers and allergens. All 4 our our pets eat it exclusively and thrive on it.
