Default Wellness Brand cat food too rich for cat's belly?

I put my two 6 mo. old kitties on Wellness Complete Health dry cat food about a month ago. One kitty has allergies,( always scratching, licking, chewing) so I'm trying foods without grains. However, the other kitty developed diarrhea for 3 weeks! Took him to the vet, they ran a bunch of tests, and he is fine, so she believes the Wellness food must be too rich for his stomach. She prescribed a presciption line of Royal Canin cat food that is $35.00 for a 3 lb bag! $140 a month in cat food just isn't in my budget right now. Can anyone recommend another food without grains that isn't so rich to give him diarrhea? Forget trying to seperate them for feeding....they have to be on the same food! Thanks!

My cats really like Wellness, and seem to be doing really good on it. I would suggest taking this question to:http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/There is a lot of cat knowledgeable people on the forums, and there has been some great discussion about cat food, and cat nutrition. When I have a cat question, I usually check out this place first, and I know that this topic of wheat free diets has been talked about.I can suggest that you try other cat foods - I know that Nature's Variety sells a grain free dry food, but don't know of any other.
