Default wellness "core" cat food?

My cat needs to loose weight and I want to feed her a good quality, grain-free diet. She refuses to eat anything but dry food. I'm wondering if wellness core dry food would be good for her. Has anyone fed this to their cat(s)? Any other suggestions on what to feed along the lines of high protein and grain free would be appreciated as well.

Just go to pet smart and start reading the ingredients lists on the different brands. but I have heard that wellness "core" cat food is a very good food for cats. I have a friend who's cat is on science diet weight control and is doing very well. her cat is no longer a tub o lard and is very playful and kitten like despite his old age!

Innova Evo is high in protein w/ no grains. It is very rich though, I have a cat w/ chronic diarrhea so she couldn't tolerate it.

I haven't tried this product, however many of the Wellness products include garlic which is toxic to cats. Read your labels. Another grain-free dry food is Orijen made by Champion Foods in Alberta, Canada using all Western-Canadian products. Good luck. With all of the recalls its tough to find good, safe food for cats with special needs. Sign up on itchmo.com for pet food safety notices if you haven't already. ...Pam
